A group shot of my Venusaur collection! (taken 22/1/13) Wow it's getting hard to photograph because so many things I TRIED MY BEST GUYS.

Pokedoll
Pokemon Center - 2013
I'm not sure you realise how absolutely monumetous this is for me. I always hoped, ALWAYS, that the Pokemon Center would make Venusaur his long overdue Pokedoll. I must admit, my hope dwindled slightly in 2010 (i think? idk i forget years) when Charizard was re-incarnated into Pokedoll form without his starter brothers, and I was planning a future shiny Pokedoll commission. BUT NO MORE.The Pokemon Center finally decided to go on a set completing spree, and give me my highest want that never even existed. And it's perfect. It's a little different from its 2004 phone strap counterpart, but it's adorable so this is ok. |
UFO Plush - Cute Pokemon Toy 3
かわいいポケモンぬいぐるみ3
Banpresto - 2005 Indisputably the cutest Venusaur plush ever to be made ever. I think I actually bought this before I started collecting Venusaur (and before I knew how much one of these usually sell for wHOOPS). I'll admit I paid way too much for this plush on eBay, considering she's completely tagless. But I don't regret it one bit. This Venusaur (formally known as Floss) is one of my favourite Pokeplush, and my travelling bud. |
Super DX FireRed & LeafGreen UFO PlushスーパーDXファイアレッド&リーフグリーンぬいぐるみ
Banpresto - 2005 Ahh, he's too big for my white background aaaaaaa Banpresto, you make SUCH fine plush. I've been after this plush for a long time really. Though I was pretty nervous about the shipping cost and what not, so I kept this want at bay for awhile. But then Christmas came around, so I took the chance and asked for this guy as a present. Ohoho, what a fabulous Christmas present indeed! This is probably.. the biggest plush I'd ever want to get. Big plush don't seem to mold in well with my room, and even though this Venu is about 10" (So deffs not the biggest plush ever), I'm still having trouble finding a good place for him. |
Pocket Monsters Special Collection
ポケットモンスタースペシャルコレクション
Banpresto - 1997 This. Is the most HILARIOUS Venusaur plush I have EVER SEEN. It's so stumpy and grumpy and STUPID BUT I LOVE IT. Got it with all the tags and everything, LEGIT. Its leaves/flower seem to just be glued to the plush. Way to be quality 90's Banpresto. I can't even imagine seeing this collection of plush in UFO machines today. Goes to show how much a company can improve over the years! |
Tomy Recall Plush (?)
Tomy - 2004
This line of plush (originally came with a drawstring bag) was recalled in 2004 by Tomy, because it was reported that broken sewing needle tips were found inside of them. I'm honestly not sure of the line this was released under had a name. Every time I see it it's referred to as Tomy Recall Plush. BUT. DANG. FINALLY IN MY GRUBBY PAWS. This is another Venusaur that continually slipped through my clutches. But an amazing person offered to sell me one from their own personal collection, thus, THIS HAPPENED. This guy is hurpin' its durp all over the place. With its funny mouth and droopy petals. |
Bell Plush
すずなりポケモン ぬいぐるみ
Banpresto - 1997 If you had suggested to me a year ago I would have this treasure? Well, I would've scoffed in your face! I can barely even now fathom that I have this guy MIP. I've actually been admiring this Venusaur Bell Plush for AGES in Chibichimp's (my Venu collectoring friend) collection, and when she sadly had to put him up for sale, I leapt at the chance. Waiting for this guy in the mail was one of the most excruciating thing I've experienced. Every day he didn't arrive, I worried he was lost forever. I was so close to calling him lost, but then. The wait was over. Definitely one of my treasures. <3 EDIT: And the acquisition of a non-boxed Venusaur DONE. I always wanted a guy out of box to just, like, squish, and stuff, but I didn't want to take my first one out of HIS box because that would be madness. This is why, when Happyjolteon had a spare Venusaur Bell Plush for sale, I was all ME PLEASE. I love how they have subtle differences in their face. They're both very special to me. |
Prototype Snaptoy Plush
Hasbro - 2004
This, my friends, is more than just a plush. As a fellow owner of a prototype Snaptoy plush said, this is plush history. This is the plush that was used to pitch a pattern to mass producing companies. And since this plush never got mass produced, this is SUPER RARE. I know so far that there is only one other plush with the same colours in the world, and one with Venusaur's original colours. This feels far too special to have in my little collection. And I've warmed up to this Venusaurs pattern SO much more since I've had this. When I saw it on PPP, I honestly wasn't a huge fan. But now, I absolutely ADORE it. Most definitely an incredible plush. Mega Venusaur Plush
Pokemon Center - 2014
Mega Venusaur's first big debut into the 3D realm, with a gorgeous Pokemon Center exclusive plush! There is really nothing I could suggest to improve it. The embroidered details on the face and body are so beautifully done, and minky is just everywhere, with the exception of the vines and flower trunk. But gosh darn that doesn't even matter. I gotta say though, one of my favourite parts is that they made thhead pattern in such a way that one of the seams acts PERFECTLY as a mouth. Like that's just smart. You go Pokemon Center. MPC Plush
Banpresto - 2014
Two plush in one year? Venusaur you have been spoilt beyond belief. This is from the popular UFO catcher line of keychain plush, originally conceptualised to create every gen 5 Pokemon in plush form. But now that they've completed that goal, they've moved onto a more random assortment of characters. Venusaur was released in a group with its other gen one starters and final evolutions (with the middle evolutions missing out again; not cool Banpresto). |
- Figures
Unreleased Venusaur TFG Figure
Kaiyado? - N/A
This is the only thing I would have ever allowed the coveted position of grail in my collection. I just. How did this even happen? I feel so lucky to own such a rare and sought after figure oh my GOSH. The Groundbreaker set of TFG's will forever be infamous in the Pokemon collecting community. Promo pictures were released of a set of 42 new Pokemon Kaiyado figures, and everyone REJOICED. But then the release date kept being pushed back, and pushed back, until eventually, the set got cancelled, to the disappointment of many. Since the figures were on the promo poster, we knew they were out there. But finds were few and far between. Fast forward a few years, and Gin, on the hunt for a certain Groundbreaker TFG, managed to find a small but some never before seen Groundbreaker TFG's, which were so many peoples grails. Including me. The mad scramble to get the money together was.. fun. And the auction the obtain this figure was a level of stress that I'd rather not experience again! But none of that matters, because I have my grail. I still can't believe it! |
D-Arts Posable Venusaur Figure
Bandai - 2013
Ok no I KNOW I SAY THIS A LOT. BUT. This legitimately one of the best figures, if not THE best figure Venusaur's ever had the pleasure to receive. The attention to detail is immaculate, and pretty much everything that could be articulated is. Want to open the mouth? Go for it. Make the vines longer? Just add one of the included attatchments. Lift up and INDIVIDUAL FLOWER PETAL? SON WE GOT IT ALL. And to top it all of it comes with a nifty little Pokeball base LIKE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS FIGURE IS GREAT. Word of advice though. Be patient with the vines. They're a little fiddly. Extendo vines
|
Zukan Figure
立体ポケモン図鑑
Yujin/Takara Tomy ARTS - ? No collection, and I mean NO COLLECTION, feels complete until the Zukan joins the party. Unless you collect Onix or Steelix. But wow, to have this, one of my HIGHEST WANTS in my collection? Amazing. That I was able to get it BY ITS SELF? I can barely still believe it. This figure is AMAZING. The face detail is everything I could hope for and more, plus THAT FLOWER. You know you have a good Venu figure when there are white spots on the botton of the flower. |
Mega Zukan Figure
立体ポケモン図鑑
Yujin/Takara Tomy ARTS - 2014 And with the introduction of Mega Venusaur comes a new Zukan figure! In comparison to the old Zukan, you can really see how extensive the mega evolution is; this guy's got the beef to take down some serious opponents. Also, fun fact, it almost looks identical to the Mega Venusaur Tomy Figure, with the Zukan being a fraction larger, and having a slightly de-saturated colour palette. Gotta be careful if you're trying to buy one or the other! Tomy Monster Collection Figuresモンスターコレクション
Tomy - ?/? I'm sure pretty much EVERYONE'S familiar with these. The guy on the left is the oooolldd Tomy figure. And for some unknown reason Tomy decided to shove every one of their snouts in soot. Artistic license? The guy on the right, I THINK he's official, thought I'm not 100%. Perhaps they released a later version? Idk. The only real difference between the two is the snout and the fact the flower's facing a different direction. |
Monster Collection Battle Scene
モンスターコレクション バトルシーン
Tomy - ? Oh my God.. the joy I felt when this bb FINALLY arrived at my door, MIB no less, was almost indescribable. I was pretty bummed after losing this guy in a GA (though the price went much higher than I anticipated!), so in a fit of impatience, I begged rocket_chick to middle man me one from Y!J. Then she took him for ransom, I paid, HE ESCAPED, and wound up in my post box. <3 Admittedly, I paid a bit much to get my grubby paws on this guy, but he is SO. WORTH IT. The detail's great; It even has the white spots on the underside of the flower! Definitely a favourite of mine (Tomy, you do wonders for Venusaur). |
Venusaur Kids!
ポケモン キッズ
Bandai, 1996-2006 Seriously, who doesn't love Kid figures? This series has been running since 1996, and it doesn't look like they're stopping any time soon! Venusaur is lucky to get so many different Kid figures, and I'm so lucky to have gotten them ALL! It took several month, lots of looking, and help from a fair few people, but I'm so happy to finally get my complete Venusaur army! Ahh it's so lovely. Let's have a closer look, yeah? |
Venusaur DX Kid
Bandai - 2006
This big guy is about twice the size of an average Kid. All DX Kids seem to have some movable part, and for Venusaur it's his front legs! Granted, they don't... they don't move that far, but they can still flail about! The more I look at this Kid, the more I love it. It's... Hypnotising. |
Old Regular Kid/Old Fuzzy Kid/Old Clear Kid
Bandai - 1996/1996(?)/1996
This old Venusaur Kid was in the first batch of Kids ever made! And it's about as cute as merch can get from 1996. I don't really know that much about the Fuzzy Kid though. My assumption is that it was made about the same time as its regular brother. So far I've only seen a Charizard and Blastoise of the same velvety goodness. And my first Clear Venusaur Kid! The whole... green-ness is a bit odd, but we'll go with it. |
New Regular Kid/Shiny Kid/Clear Kid
Bandai - 2014/2004/2004/2004
When Fire Red and Leaf Green came out, Bandai decided it was time to give the old Venusaur Kid an epic revamp. And here it is! A much cuter, more up to date Venusaur Kid. So very very cute. I'm very lucky to also own the Shiny Kid! These Kids weren't distributed in convenience stores. They were a lottery prize, which means they're very rare from the get go. I did my first GA (a lot with shiny Bulba/Ivy/Venu) just to get my shiny Venu. And I'm so thrilled to have it. Next the clear kid ayyyyyy. I nearly died when I saw him in an auction post. And I got it for the starting bid! LUCK. *happysigh* Finally, the 2014 re-release! I wasn't even going to bother buying it when I first saw it announced, but I'm so glad I decided to include it in a group of purchases now! The mould's completely different, even though the pose is the same, plusthe colours are a little updated too! Definitely a different mould!
|
Full Color Stadium FiguresBandai - ?
Venusaur FCS are quite... interesting. At first I didn't even realise the sitting-on-mah-bum Venusaur was a FCS until I saw it listed as one on a fellow Venu collectors site. The FCS to the right is hilarious. It's got some srs HURRRRR going on there. That plus the blue vines... funny little figure. Funny little figure indeed. AND ALL FIVE ARE NOW TOGETHER AS A FAMILY. I finally got the bottom right one in the mail. it just feels so /right/. |
Battle Museum Figure
Bandai - ?
Then in Generation 2, Battle Museum Figures took over from the old FCS figures, displaying a variety of gen 2 Pokemon, and also a nice handful of gen one Pokemon! Here's Venusaurs Very own figure, where I THINK it's using Razor Leaf? Honestly idk. These figures come with bases and stickers that state information about the Pokemon, one for the front and one for the back. Mine seems to be coming off slightly. Ah well! |
Pocket Monsters Stamp 151ポケットモンスタースタンプ151
Banpresto - 1999 151 Stampers! These are inkless stamps that you could get from Gasaphon machines in 1999. The clear bases sometimes have a hard time staying on the stamp. They're made in at least four colours, the last one I know is out there is the red stamp. Though for all I know, there could be many, many more. |
Thinkchip+ Figure
Hasbro - 2005
Holy shit Hasbro I love you for this one. This is about as dynamic as Venusaur can get, and I will gladly take that. This Thinkchip+ figure was released with other starter final evo's, legendaries, and, of course. Pikachu. They do some game thing idk. I just care about how INCREDIBLY AWESOME THIS LOOKS. Especially in bright light it is gorgeous. YOU SHALL NOT PASS. |
Hasbro Combat Figure
Hasbro - 2000
When I put a bid down for this mofo in a GA, I had no idea how big he really was! When a box arrived at my house, I was clueless as to what it could be, then BAM, out popped massive Venusaur! One of his leaves are on a retractable string; you pull it out, then push (or repetitively slam down) the yellow flower part, and the leave will come ZOOMING (or dragging) back into place. And its legs also move. This Venu is pretty fine. |
Action Base Figure (?)
Bandai - 2004
One of the seriously cool Venusaurs that got its own DIORAMA. You can actually attach the (rubbery) vines to the tree thing, then move it with the bit jutting out on the side (that is NOT shown in this picture) for some epic VINE WHIPPING ACTION. The majority of my immediate family has been Vine Whipped by this badass. I hear they didn't enjoy it. Odd. EDIT: The vines on this recently broke. I DON'T GET WHY, BUT IT MADE ME SAD. |
Pokemon 10 Battles "Battle for Life"
|
Walking Buildable Figure (?)
Tomy - 1997
I really love that I got to make this little guy all by myself. When I bought him off eBay, I didn't realise it was actually a buildable figure. When it came I was all "Oh wow, that's kind of a big box for such a little *opens box* Ooohhhh." At first it was awkward. Then it got awesome. When you wind it up, it can walk along like it's really MOVING. (Granted it's not on a fabric like material.) |
Pokemon Metal Collection Figure
ポケモンメタルコレクション
Kyodo - 1997 (?) This series has practically been going on since the start of Pokemon merchandise, with every one of the first 151 Pokemon getting some loving here. I'd seen Charizard, and Blastoise Metal Collection Figures so many times, but for some reason, Venusaur seems so much more illusive. It took about a year before I got my first sighting of the bronze figure, and won him in a GB. Before that it was definitely one of my higher wants, and now I just can't wait to get more like him and his golden bro! |
Keshimonけしモン
Ensky - 1997 WOW THIS VENUSAUR IS HARD TO PHOTOGRAPH. Keshimon are quite rare; they were released in 1997 in little Pokeball erasers. The Japanese word for eraser is keshigomu, so these tiny figures came to be known as Keshimon. For a little guy (only about a cm by a cm), he does weigh quite a bit. AND HIS GOLDEN BROTHER HAS BEEN LOCATED. Fabulous Venubutts. <3 Also about real size.
|
TM Collection (Pencil Topper) Set 1
わざマシンコレクション
Bandai - 2005 (?) These pencil toppers usually show Pokemon in dynamic poses doing powerful moves. For this one Bandai decided to have Venusaur doing its signature Solar Beam! I'm lucky I found one with the Solar Beam still attached. It's quite easy to just pop the attack part off. Maybe it's so people could customise their pencil toppers...? But really, who would want to use something so awesome as an average pencil topper? WHO. |
Mini Models!ミニモデル
Bandai - ? Mini Models are kind of cool in their own weird way. These figures were only made of the original 151 Pokemon, and I've never seen a single collector with every colour/type of Mini Model for the Pokemon they collect. I don't expect I'll get them all either (especially since Venusaur got TWO different Models), but it's always cool when another one appear out of the blue. |
Large Mini Models
ミニモデル
Bandai - ? The name I gave these figures feels slightly oxymoronic. These are the larger version of Mini Models that Venusaur was lucky enough to get! I'm not sure if these guys got the same array of colours as their smaller counterparts, since THESE ARE THE ONLY ONES I'VE SEEN. I suppose that makes these kinds rare. GOLLY GEE. |
Regular Mini Models
ミニモデル
Bandai - ? These are the more common of the Venusaur mini model figures. Not to say that a lot of these are common though! For some reason, the green mini model seems to appear a lot more than all the others.. perhaps just because it's just a grass type, WHO KNOWS. One day I'd love to have a nice proper rainbow of these guys. I really want orange and purple to really flesh out the array of colours! |
?
J.Franco & Sons, Inc. - 1999
I've got NO clue what collection/title little guy was released under, but I can tell you without a doubt it is the DERPIEST Venusaur in my collection. But he's special to me. <3 This Venusaur's a bit squishable. He has four holes on his belly, so all the air can escape. Weird little fellow isn't he? |
Venusaur In-Case Figure
Kyodo - ?
The figure with the green case is hilarious. Someone completely botched up the paint job on the eyes. (I looked closer, and the red eye dots are COMPLETELY out of the pupil outline) Actually, his paint job in general's a bit dodgy. Usually these are really cute, buuuut... Venusaur didn't quite get its lucky break with this one. Better luck next time little buddy. New edition of the blue based Venusaur. Now THAT is how they're supposed to look. |
Character Stamp (Chibi Stamper)
キャラクタースタンプ
Kyodo - ? Now these little guy were a bit luckier in the eye department. They're the exact same figure as our unfortunate little friend above. Chibi Stampers are self inked stamps with a usually cute version of the Pokemon perched on top. I don't know. I wouldn't exactly say cute. A sample of the blue chibi stamper stamp.
|
Roller Stamp
? - ?
I had no idea this little cutie even existed until a lovely comm member linked me to a Y!J lot with the little bugger nestled inside! Lucky for me it was just an obscure lot with a bunch of other not so sought after Pokemon stamps and charms, and it had a low starting price, so I bid on it, and won without any hassle! And it was definitely worth it because this Venusaur is super cool and his stamp still works like a charm! Now if only I knew where or when he was from. |
Pocket Monster Puchi Chara (GBA Clip)/Clear Version
ポケットモンスター プチキャラ
? - ? Guys, think back to your Game Boy Advances and SP's. Do you remember a small square hole that seemed to just be there for the shits and giggles? Well THIS my friends is the answer to all your questions! This little Venusaur can clip off his base, and the clip on his belly fits nicely into the small square hole of your Game Boys. ALSO THE CLEAR VERSION YUM. It's all delightful and see through. Like freaking magic or something. |
Venusaur Christmas Tree
Tomy - 1997
FINALLY MINE. After months I eventually decided to man up and buy this monster of a Venu from Y!J, and I'm so happy I did! This thing is, the figure part of this is HUGE. Tied as my biggest figure with that bigass one above, AND THEN THERE'S A TREE, just, massive. MY SMALLER FIGURES ARE LITERALLY PERCHING IN THE TREE. And the little "ornaments" in the tree are pretty cute, 'specially the Charmander. AND IT'S GOT A BELL ON THE TOP. AND. AND. AFHOUISAHAJIOP. |
Choco Ball Footprint FigureTomy - ?
For such a little figure, (only about a cm or 2 high!) this Venu has so much detail put into it! Normally it comes with a base it can stand it, and when you take it out you can see its little footprints. But when I bought this, I didn't realise it was missing anything. Oh yeah and here's the one with the place boo dee boo. I love how it's just peeping over the leaves. /Creeping/ |
Mew Diorama Figure
? - ?
A Venusaur figure that I bought as an absolute mystery off somebody off PkmnCollectors, and I won't lie, I was THRILLED when I actually figured out what this little guy's from. In my comm stalkings, I came across an amazing Venusaur collection, and this guy was in it! But not by himself as he is to the left, but complete with a Mew in a diorama, pictured below. One day I wouldn't mind having the complete thing, but to have even this one piece makes me very happy. |
Dice Figure
? - ?
One of the four various poses that are found on these dice. Venusaur was lucky enough to be made as one of the bigger size dice, as opposed to the smaller variety. This guy just has the default expression. If by default you mean CUTE. Mini Dice Figure
? - ?
Ok I wrote the above caption years ago and I was 100% wrong. It seems like Venusaur does have a mini dice figure! Thought I can't say for sure whether or not it comes from the same producers as the larger dice figure. Either way, this figure is TINY. About a centimetre squared, and delightfully hard to capture the details of. All the thanks and love go to Sorjei for sending me this little child. |
Battle "Eraser"
Tomy - ?
A little yellow Venusaur. It comes in a set with a pencil featuring the same Pokemon as the "eraser". I put eraser in quotation marks because it's not really an eraser. I tried its supposed erasing powers. With its foot. Whatever person bought this as an eraser will be bitterly disappointed. I've also seen a blue version. Who knows how many variations there could be? |
?
? - ?
I have no idea where these come from. I have no idea what these come from. I have no idea WHEN these come from. These Venusaurs are an absolute mystery to me. I'm pretty sure I've also seen a Gold/Silver/Blue version. Though right now all I've got are Bronze, Teal (?), yellow, and GLOW IN THE DARK. From the little bit of plastic sticking out from their noses, it looks like these figures were snapped off some sort of mold. If you have any info about these Venus, please let me know! |
Glow in the Dark Figure (GHOSTSAUR)
ソフビ人形
? - ? As much as I was shocked to hear it, this guy is not a bootleg as I first thought! There's actually a whole line of these derpy little guys. They're a special family indeed. I remember seeing this figure for the first time in a Saur line collection, and since then, I just wanted it because it's wa too hilarious. So worth it. |
Squeezy Toy (?)
? - ?
I honestly have no clue if this guy is legit. In all honestly, I'm doubting it a little, buuut whatever. If it is legit, I imagine it was one of those obscure dog toy type things. Oh god, I hope this wasn't a dog toy. It's quite squishable, and has little air holes on its belly, for air to escape I'd imagine. And it has a totally and completely legit looking flower there. Yep. |
?
Tomy - 2004
This Venusaur is kind of really cute. From what I know, all the fully evolved gen 1 starters got one of these figures, though no-one knows where they've come from! They all have a large hole on their bottom side, and while I can't speak for the other figures, this Venusaur is a tiny bit squishy. Idk, BUT IT'S CUTE. |
Buildable Tomy Figure
Tomy - 1998
The first time I saw this little bugger was in an ad in an old, OLD Coro Coro magazine my old Japanese teacher had in her classroom. Eventually our Japanese class was scraped due to too few students, which means I got to keep the Coro Coro! WOWZERS. But no anyway that just made getting this figure all the sweeter, with many thanks to my bro Sam, who lovingly middle-manned this baby to me, because eBay shipping rates to Australia are dumb. I GOT TO BUILD IT TOO. IT WAS FUN. When you press down on the flower it shoots out a leaf it's really cool and slightly dangerous. God bless toys from the 90's. Man this box has seen better days.
|
Pocket Monster Model 1/32 Scale
Bandai - 1999
This is probably the closest Venusaur is ever going to come to a Plamo figure. I was just going through the Venusaur search on Y!J, and I found this figure, MiP! I'd never even seen him before, and he had a low start price, so I /had/ to try. And I won! To my surprise, it came in pieces, with stickers for the eyes, ears, and flower spots. I LOVE THESE SORT OF BUILD IT YOURSELF FIGURES. It also came with some 12 year old lollies, that I quickly threw away. |
Mega MEGA Blok Figure (?)
? - ?
I'm SO glad this is smaller than I thought it would be! For some reason I thought it would be some 20cm tall monster figure, but it's like half that size, which is a huge relief. The height worry was a huge reason why I didn't get this until recently, and even then I was a little nervous to buy it in the first place. But! It's not that big! And it looks hilarious! WIN WIN ALL AROUND YO. |
Pokemon Action Figure (Series 3)
_ポ
ケモン アクションフィ
ギュア3
Bandai - 1998 I'm so glad I was able to find this figure again! I missed it almost a year ago on a comm sales post, and hadn't seen a single other one since! Luckily I have amazing friends, since one of them (you know who you are :U) alerted me to some being sold on eBay! They were a little overpriced, but seemed legit, SO I TREATED MYSELF. His back legs, head, leaves, and flower tree are all separate pieces. I didn't realise until I accidentally pulled off a leg.. IT'S BACK ON DON'T WORRY. But, it was quite a surprise! |
Soap Bottle Figure (?)
? - 1999
WOW this guy's a looker. This is one of those odd old figures you always see on eBay, that are way overpriced, and that no-one buys. I've always been tempted by it, but figured one would turn up on the comm eventually. And I was right! Okapifeather put one up for sale, at first in a lot, but later by itself. THIS WAS MY CHANCE, AND I WASN'T GOING TO LET IT SLIP AWAY. I think this was originally a figure that came on the lid of a soap bottle or something, idk. I'm just happy to finally have this ugly bastard in my collection. <3 |
Clear Bootleg Tomy
N/A- N/A
Wow look at that clear plastic ass are we in the future or something oh man I'm freaking out. Also, side note. Don't try to clean the horrible paint job on these babies off, because you will also rub off the layer of colour covering the clear plastic mold. As you can see is a thing I may have done. Woops. |
- Keychains / Phone straps / Charms
Pokemon Center Pokedoll Strap
Pokemon Center - 2004
THIS. This is one of the absolute gems of my collection. In 2004, the Pokemon Center did a promo for FR/LG that included many pictures of gen one starters and their final evolutions in the Pokedoll style. But sadly, no final evolution Pokedoll plush were actually made at the time! Ever since I discovered some merch from this promo, I wish SO HARD for some kind of 3D Venudoll. But I'd never seen anything like that around PKMNCollectors, so I accepted nothing like this would come to be, and went on with business. But only a month or so later, a Pokemon Strap GA popped up, with this little gem in it (plus a Charizard and Blastiose version). I proceeded to loose my tiny mind, then stalked the GA 'till the very end to make sure I wouldn't loose this. The GA was won, shipped here, there, and finally to my humble abode. I died of joy having it in my hands, then didn't let it out of my site for about... a week. If it wasn't so (I'm assuming) rare, I'd take it everywhere with me. <333 |
Pokemon Time Phone Strap
Pokemon Center - 2012
I still literally can barely comprehend that this is in my possession. That this even EXISTS. This is actual perfection. There were two things I wished for when I started my Venusaur collection. A 3D interpretation of Venusaur in both Pokedoll and Pokemon Time style. When I found the Pokedoll strap above I was ecstatic. I thanked my lucky star. And pretty much tucked all hope of my second wish coming true because it was rather unlikely. I knew there had already been a gen 1 promo, with Bulbasaur. They hadn't done a gen 4 OR 5 promo yet. Why would they turn back, and use Venusaur? No, they wouldn't. That's ok. And then one day, I was chilling about, being my awesome self, when my Twitter EXPLODED with people caps smashing at me about the new PT promo, with a VERY SPECIAL inclusion! And I just burst. Into confetti. Immediately. I then rushed home, proceeded to pre-order every Venusaur Pokemon Time item I knew of, and twirled in a field of daisies until the best package ever arrived home. But this figure is ADORABLE. IN EVERY AND ALL WAYS. This is easily, EASILY equal favourite with my Pokedoll strap and TFG figure out of my entire collection. I even ordered two, just because. EVERYTHING ABOUT IT IS JUST PERFECTION. It's ok that PT Venusaur didn't get a plush adaptation. That is why I make plush. But is something I could never make. And I am unbelievably overjoyed to have it in my collection. |
Pokemon Swing Strap 3 ~ Legendary Pokemon Guide
ポケモンスイングストラップ3~伝説のポケモン編
Bandai - 2004 I won't lie, I love charms. I love phone straps. Thus, I love THIS. Plus the epic high quality of this fig is never a bad thing. FUNNILY ENOUGH, I had this as a high want on my wishlist, but I'd only seen the stock photo (which was front on), so I didn't know anything about the rarity/price. Then I bought this guy of Y!J (side shot only), and it came to my door, I was all... OMG WAIT./dives for the internet. LOW AND BEHOLD, HIGH WANT ACCIDENTALLY ACHIEVED. There's a story you can take to the bank. |
Mega Venusaur Phone Strap
Pokemon Center - 2014
Portable Mega Venusaur for all your portable Venusaur needs. This little guy came with an extra plastic band and even a phone jack, if you for some reason wanted to keep switching this figure out for your headphones. Such nice detail for such a small figure!
Mega Evolution Keychain
Banpresto - 2014
Another addition to Venusaur's mega evo collection, the Banpresto keychain! The second wave of these figures, you had to win this boxed in a UFO catcher, meaning it was a little trickier to get ahold of! |
Pocket Monsters Advance Generation Fighting Pokemon Keyholder 2ポケットモンスターアドバンスジェネレーション ファイティング ポケモン キーホルダー2
Banpresto - ? Collectors I know always seem to rave about this one keychain. Which I think is completely warranted. The Razor Leaf action is really something to see, and the slight leaning to the left is a really nice touch. Plus all the detail in general of this figure is pretty cool. Though I do wish the mouth wasn't all pointy like. In all honestly, that ruins it for me A LITTLE. The rounder mouths/faces are the ones I like better. But despite that, still a really epic, AND worth it keychain! |
Pokemon Swing Keychainポケモンスイング ライチュウ・ピカチュウ
? - ?/Bandai/? - ? / ? / ? A fair few evolution lines from the first generation have been made into these cute little keychains. Here we've got Venusaur/Bulbasaur, and then Venusaur/Ivysaur. Funny though that the Venusaurs differ from each other. Funny also that the Venu/Ivy Venusaur is exactly the same as the 151 Stampers. I see what you did there. |
Wireless Trading Keychain (?)
? - ?
When Fire Red and Leaf Green was released, the wireless adapter came with it, making multi player game play A LOT less awkward. This little keychain depicts a Charizard being traded for a Venusaur via the wireless adapter. The Pokemon are charms, so they can be removed from the clear cable. It was a bit fun to play with the Charizard. SWOOP. |
Pokemon Bell Keychain (Timer Ball)ポケ鈴コレクション
Kyodo - ? A cute little chibi Venusaur perched upon a Timer Ball! This is so many levels of adorable. The Pokeball is actually a little bell! And there are many variations of the ball. So far I've also seen a Pokeball and a Masterball, but who knows how many more there could be! |
Pocket Monsters Soft Keyholderポ ケットモンスター ソフ トキーホルダ ライチュウ
Banpresto - 1997 This Venuchain is... a bit confused about its colour. Dark blue skin, baby pink flower and eyes. I'm starting to wonder if the creators of this little guy only got a black and white print out to design from. Even so, I really like this keychain. I don't know how to explain it, but it's kind of... cute. |
?
? / ?
This keychain is a mystery to me. I've got no clues about who/when/what this was made. Though it does seem moderately common, so the answer must be out there SOMEWHERE. I won't lie, I can't say I'm very fond of this Venusaur. I'm not even sure why, I'm just not. Though it IS still a Venusaur, so in my collection it goes! |
Gold Medal Swing Keychains
ポケモンメダルスイング
Takara Tomy - ? Apparently Venubutt got two Swing Keychain variations? WHO WOULD'VE THUNK IT. I know I sure didn't. Both of these keychains are in fact the gold editions, except the one on the left is a bit, and the one on the right is practically mint. I'm also guessing the one on the left is much more common, since I'd never even heard of the right one before. There also a silver version of both. Well, definitely for the left one, I'm just assuming for the right one. GOODY. |
Johto Metal Charms (HG/SS Charms)Pokemon Center - 2009
Though I wasn't collecting Pokemon when these charms were available, I've read enough to know there was an absolute frenzy over these. Since they were a limited promotion, they sold out quite quickly, and are therefore pretty hard to come by even a year later. I was worried I'd never find one for a good price, but as my luck would have it, I found one in a GA! Good thing too, because I didn't want the whole set, just Venu. <3 I see why so many people wanted these charms. They're just so... so pretty! |
National Dex Metal Charm
Pokemon Center - 2011
IT HATH FINALLY COMETH UPON ME. Say hello to Venusaur's most recent item. The Pokemon Center is just, crazy. One charm, for EVER POKEMON FORM. IN. EXISTENCE at the time. They are madmen. And oh how I love them for it. The art used for this charm is in fact Venusaur's Dream World artwork, artwork that ALSO was seen being used on the Venusaur Game Boy SP box. This artwork's been around down BUT I DON'T CARE. I still love it. |
Pokemon Center Keychain Charm
Pokemon Center - 2004
This charm is seriously TINY. Like, one centimeter squared. Teeny tiny. And by luck of the draw I got two of them; one with the keychain, and one by itself, so I can use one. WHAT LUCK. This charm did come in a set with a Pikachu charm and probably others that I don't know about hey how nifty is that. |
Pokedoll Metal Charm
Pokemon Center - 2014
The Pokemon Center has been releasing sets of metal charms like these ones for over a decade, but it's finally Venusaur's time to shine! He came with his life partners Charizard and Blastoise, along with Mewtwo to round out the bunch. Wonderful. The brunch bunch

- Miscellaneous
Mega Block
MEGA BLOCKS キャラブロック
? - ? It always amazes me how this is the "Big Block". The picture is just a little smaller than real size. It makes me wonder how truly tiny the regular ones are. This big old lard got a Big Block with Charizard, while their poor buddy Blastiose got nothing. Blastiose would've made such a cool Mega Block.. |
Japanese Traditional Design Campaign Series #2 Pin
Pokemon Center- 2014
If you know me you know that I don't jump for flat merch. Most pins aren't for me. But this one. Holy shit. Such a strong and impressive design, not only on this one but on every pin in the series! I'm still trying to figure out where to put my second one, because I want it on me. All the time. |
151 Badge
Pokemon Center - 2000
Every one of the original 151 Pokemon got one of these spiffy badges all the way back in 2000. Since there weren't too many (collecting) people around for the release, these badges are hard to come by now! Venusaurs art is pretty cool. Its all staaaaaaaaare. Though I am a bit envious some other Pokemon got cuter art. |
Mega Venusaur Gachapon Tin Badge
Pokemon Center - 2014
Some of Mega Venusaur's very first merch! I can't say I'm too big on pins, but when your fav gets a new form, merch preference kind of goes out the window. Besides, this is a pretty neato pin. Yeah. Collectible Mega Pokemon Series #2 Tin Can Badge
Pokemon Center - 2014
MORE MEGA VENUSAUR PIN YES GOOD. THIS ONE HAS A BIT OF A SHEEN TO IT THAT MAKES IT EXCITING. WOW. SEE THE SHEEN????

AG Retsuden Stamp (Set 5)
Ensky - ?
This is a rare little gem. AG (Advance Generation) Retsuden Stamps are incredibly hard to come by these days. They're pretty much blind boxed stamps that were hard enough to come across when they were first released, making it nearly impossible to find specific ones these days. I got lucky here; a comm member bought a set of Retsuden stamps, with this guy included. c: It's really nice to know I won't have to worry about finding this in the future! The stamps are self inking, but unfortunately due to their age, some have gone dry. That's the case with this one, but it can still stamp with the aid of an ink pad, so. YAY. |
Deck Box
? - ?
This is one of the presents my darling Fizzycat sent to me for my 16th birthday. Whatever if it came a bit late, IT'S THE THOUGHT THAT COUNTS DAMMIT. <3 This thing here's a deck box, used to put all your pretty Pokemon cards in and what have you. WITH AN AWESOME VENUSAUR MOTIVATING YOU TO VICTORY. Side/back of the box. FIERCE GYARADOS BLARG.
|
Pokemon Time Blind Packaged Tin
Pokemon Center - 2012
Gosh darn Pokemon Center why do you have to blind package your delicious Venusaur Pokemon Time merchandise. You caused me so much unnecessary worry with this little patterned tin. As far as I can tell, there was only this variation of Venusaur tin, unlike the bookmarks, so all worry is put to rest. ALSO THIS IS REALLY SMALL PRO TIP. I did not expect its size at all. |
Mega Stone
Takara Tomy ARTS - 2014
Ok this is one piece of merch that I was hoping SO HARD to be made, and here we are! Sold in vending machines, these Takara Tomy mega stones were made to be compatible with the "Mega Ring" (hense screw bosses and mechanism in the back of the "stone"). You put the mega stone in the band, and BOOM BAM something happens idk. I don't actually own the thing. I juust wanted the stone. MARBLE
? - ?
PART TWO OF FIZZYCAT'S KINDNESS. Well there were actually three parts, but the third one was a sticker I've already got so um YEP. I have fond memories of these marbles from my childhood. So it's all kinds of awesome to get one of these back, especially a Venusaur one oh man. NOSTALGIA HERE I COME. <333 |
Spinning top.. thing
? - ?
Venusaur can take on all your Beyblades. SPINNING TOP.
McDonalds Launch Disk
? - 2014
Man idk if that's even its official title leave me alone This little thing's super neato! It's almost like a hyped up game of rock paper scissors. On the bottom of the disk is a symbol you can change, then you put this sucker in its pokeball launcher, squeeze the sides, and WAM. Out it flies to make its parents proud. I accidentally did that the first time I got it and nearly shat myself it was wild. Many thanks to Sushirisu for sending this to me!! Wow, so cool. |
Game Boy Cartridge Rubber
? - 1995
This is one of things that were supposed to be a rubber you just used on your dang ass grade 2 maths homework. Like hell am I ever using this on my math homework. Whoever used this on their homework was a fool and I hope they feel bad. Aaaand the back!
|
Pokemon Time Pen
Pokemon Center - 2012
One of the slightly more obscure items from the 2012 PT promotion: a pen! It was advertised as a Venusaur pen, so I was all YEAH WHY NOT. Though I wasn't overly disappointed to find that Venusaur had to share this pen with a few other Pokemon; the more the merrier! Especially when they're this cute! When I got this pen, and found out it had black ink inside of it, I knew I had to use this baby. I ended up using this thing to write all of my Year 12 end of year exams! Which is about.. 11 hours worth of writing? And I'm happy to report the graphics weren't effected at all from my furious writing. It's a bit pricy for a pen, but you definitely get what you're paying for with this~ |
- Flats
Pokemon The First Movie Authentic 35mm Film Strips
? - 1999(?)
This is something I certainly never expected to get in my collection! I didn't even know this was a THING that someone could BUY. Like.. ANYWHERE. I just happened to be looking through the Venusaur results on eBay, which usually doesn't have anything great in it, but is always good for a curious browse, when I came upon the strip of four on the far left in the first picture up for sale, with a great BiN price! I thought it was literally one of the coolest things I've seen in ages, so I decided to go ahead and buy it. Why not, eh! It was great! I waited a few weeks, it arrived, and I left happy feedback. But something made me curious. I'm not sure what it was, but I went to check the eBays sellers shop, just to see what else they had. And to my utter surprise, they had relisted my film frame! Until, on closer inspection, I saw it was the next four frames after the one I bought. This opened a whole door of possibilities! What if they had more! I had to ask. I was lucky that the seller was so open to communication and negotiation; turns out they had a few film strips of the scene that I had previously bought, and they mentioned a few other strips that I may be interested in, since I had just asked if they had any other "Venusaur specific" film strips. After a little more back and forth, they put up a lot with the rest of the strips pictured here, I purchased them, and, well, here we are! These are some of the coolest things I have in my collection thus far. I have NO clue how to display them, since they need back lighting for the details to be visible, but I'm just happy to have, what I consider, a big part of Pokemon history in my own little collection! |
Pokemon Time Clearfile
Pokemon Center - 2012
What is a Pokemon Time promotion without some deliciously patterned clearfiles! Venusaur got this... interesting Hawaiian themed pattern. I'll be honest, Hawaiian patterned stuff isn't really my /favourite/ theme, per se, BUT THE VENUSAURS ON IT MAKES IT OK I ACCEPT IS AS PART OF THE FAMILY. Look at those different Venusaur designs on it OH IT'S JUST FAR TOO CUTE. And the back is a light yellow with sleeping Venusaur. CAN I JUST. <3
|
Pokemon Time Bookmark
Pokemon Center - 2012
These beautiful bookmarks made their triumphant return inside the strap backings to the joy (and slight frustration) of many in the 2012 Pokemon Time promotion! 2011 just wasn't cool enough.. though they did have packaging that matched the Pokemon, so I guess they sort of have an excuse. ANYWAY. VENUSAUR HAS GOTTEN TWO BOOKMARKS, AS THIS SEEMS TO BE THE THING IN 2012. AND NOW I HAVE THEM BOTH. ALL IS WELL IN THE WORLD ONCE MORE. |
Fire Red/Leaf Green Notebook
? - 2004
This is without a doubt the best notebook in the WORLD. Venusaur, playing skipping rope with their vines. This art is so amazing and original omg. I forgot about the fact that Japan starts their books on the RIGHT side first. I was wondering for ages why such amazing art was on the back, while on the front was just the FR/GL trainer and starters stock art. MYSTERY SOLVED. |
Cardass Card (Sugimori Card)
? - ?
There are few flats that I will actually covet, and put on my wants list to track down. I'm honestly not too pedantic about flats; most of them just come to me as freebies or something. But this card is different. I mean would you just look at it? How could I not want this epic art? I almost lost out on it too! A comm member was selling a few of these, and I asked for this Venusaur just after another member had asked for it. I was pretty sure I'd lost the thing, but the member was nice enough to pass it on for me to buy. A SINGLE MANLY TEAR FELL DOWN MY CHEEK. To top it all off, it's got a sweet holographic background. LIKE THE FUTURE, TODAY. |
TCG foil
? - 2012
Good old TCG, giving my Venusaur bb some well needed love and attention. It's been awhile since Leaf Green, and Venusaur probably misses being in the sunlight. But this art is really great! It's been donning some of the recent Dark Explorer TCG stuff. I won't pretend to know.. anything about Pokemon cards, but this art is SUPERB. Thank you sorjei for sending this to me! And the back!

Venusaur EX TCG - Collection X
The Pokemon Company - 2013
I can't quite describe how fucking delighted I was to see this card come in the mail from my darling Cally. I got to watch her open pack upon pack on a livestream, and when she pulled one of these I was SO excited for her. But when she got two? Hot damn I could've torn a wall down. AND THEN SHE SENT ME ONE. This card is so gorgeous. Not only does it have a wonderful comic book-esque graphic, but a really beautiful shimmer effect that you can just faintly see in this photo; it's really something. Mega Venusaur makes a pretty great card, dontcha think? |
Sticker thang
Pokemon Center - ?
WOULD YOU JUST LOOK AT THAT ART? SOAK IT IN. I'd seen this art on a pin in a comm members collection, and was all "ho shit that is FABULOUS. Wish I had it oh whatever". And then, like, a month later, Emurii off LJ offered to just send me this random cool PC Venusaur sticker she had. I was like COOL YEAH. It arrived a few weeks later, and I just. I was so surprised to see the art that I'd fawned over just a month or so ago, JUST RIGHT THERE. IT'S BEAUTIFUL I TELL YOU. |
Pokedoll Washcloth
Pokemon Center - 2004
I have my good friend Q to thank for this one. ;u; This went up for auction on the comm, but at the time I didn't have the money to afford it. But Q, with her god damn heart of gold, BIN'd it for me, and kept it for me until I had the spare money for it. JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF PKNNCOLLECTORS BEING AMAZING HUMAN BEINGS. <333 How cute is the art on this you guysssss. Everything is /adorable/. But especially Venusaur. c: |

Needle Felt Plush
By Sleepyvirgo (DeviantART) - 2010
This little guy is my gift from an artisan craft Secret Santa on dA. I love how stubby his little legs are! Plus, the fact it's needle felted makes it a million times more fascinating. (I'll admit though, I did cut out some little eyelids for him, just so his stare wasn't so.. intense./perfectionist) |
Crochet Plush
By Jujufox - 2012
I happened to get lucky one day whilst surfing the comm to get one of the slots that Jujufox put on offers on the comm, and it was completely worth it! Look at this little guy! He's about 4-5" tall, and very expertly made! JUST LOOK AT HIS SILLY LITTLE FACE. <3 It's like a Ditto, and I love it with every part of me. Love it. GET A SLOT FROM THIS WOMAN SHE IS INCREDIBLE. |
Custom Pokedoll
By BubbleRhapseody - 2012
Omg I have such awesome friends. I made such ungodly noises when Aimee messaged me with the pictures of this precious bab. My FIRST CUSTOM VENUDOLL. And it was a GIFT. Out of the GOODNESS of her GOD DAMN HEART oh I'm sob. This bab is so delightfully fat and soft and ohhh those little fat legs. AND THERE ARE SPOTS. UNDER THE FLOWER. There is just so much I love about this adorable little bastard brb quietly weeping. Alternate angle of FAT BABY.

Custom Pokemon Time Style Plush
By cwinget - 2011
I must admit, I'm super excited to finally have this little butt in my collection. I remember in 2011 when this guy was originally put up for auction, but unfortunately I didn't have enough money at the time, and lost the auction. I was pretty sad, BUT LIFE GOES ON YA' KNOW. Until of course the original winner of the auction decided to be a cutie patootie and message me this year (2013), asking if I'd be interested in taking it off of her hands. WHICH I VERY MUCH WAS. And then about a month later, here he is. And omg it's just as adorable as I thought. The pattern created for him is fascinating to me, and he's got an open mouth with a mechanism in his stomach, where you squeeze it aND THE MOUTH OPENS. Perfect thing. Seriously just look at this smug little butthead.

Custom Repaint CLONESAUR
By ME - 2011
No-one can forget Clonesaur from the first movie. Beating that damn Bruteroot into the ground like a pimp. I had to pay homage in SOME way to Clonesaur, because he's so cool, but so unappreciatede by merch makers. They got nothing man. So in comes me doing my forever CRAPPY REPAINTS WEOW. It'll do. |
Venusaur "Walky" Sticker
By SilverSnowCloak - 2010
This ADORABLE little custom sticker is made by the fabulous SilverSnowCloak from LiveJournal. I actually bought a whole sticker book of her custom walky stickers, and not just because I wanted lots of walkingvenus. Every single design is really great! Now I just need to... use them. |
Tarot Card
By Dionashi - 2011
This was a little bit of an impulse commission, but these cards were such a great price, how could I not! The design turned out so amazing, I'm just so pleased with this card. <3 On the back there's a design of a Pokeball with wings coming off it, and a crown on the top, as shown below. Perfect way to finish it imo. |
