Snorlax
(カビゴン Kabigon)
Sleeping Pokemon

"Snorlax's typical day consists of nothing more than eating and sleeping. It is such a docile Pokémon that there are children who use its expansive belly as a place to play."

My interest in Snorlax started with trying to pick my "first" Pokedoll (My first was REALLY Gengar, but since I didn't know it was a Pokedoll at the time, it doesn't count). I was going through Miss Fuu Chan's Pokedoll collection website, taking in every single Pokedoll. I wasn't counting legendaries or starters, (or really popular Pokemon in general. No offense, I just wanted to give some other Pokes some lovin'.) so my choice was a little harder. Then, like a strike of lightning, I saw the Snorlax Pokedoll as if for the first time, and did not rest until that baby was mine. That made me want to collect Snorlax, but since then I've cooled off a bit on my rotund friend, and have since then sold everything but the guy that started it all; the Pokedoll.
I could never get rid of him.
Still! It's nice to keep this up anyway.

Pokedoll

Pokemon Center - 2010

My dear little Snorlax Pokedoll. I love him dearly. So round, so fat, so squidgy! Since I like my plush without hand tag, I looked around to see if I could find one. For some reason, it was more difficult to find one than I thought it would be. Luckily a lovely comm member offered me their hand taggless Snorlax, and I happily accepted! I was so excited the day he came.

His name is Donut.

Beanie Plush (?)

? - ?

I bidded on this guy, and the plush just below in a GA when I was at my I-want-Snorlax peak. I'll take a guess and say this is one of the most common Snorlax plush out there, made by an American company. Though I have no clue which one.
In real life, his cream areas have a bit more of a greenish tinge to them. He just seems to photograph... really really well.
I think he looks like a zombie.
Picture

Burger King Plush

Burger King - 1999

This little guy looks like he's taken a bit of a beating in his 11 years. Even though his condition is not fabulous, I enjoy the simple yet effective pattern BK used to make him.

Zukan

Yujin Tomy - ?

SNOOZINLAX. And Minilax.
I love how well made Zukans are. Every one I've seen so far I've loved. And this one is for sure no exception.

Megablock

Snorlax translates amazingly well into block form. I was really surprised to see how small this in real life. Especially since this is one of the Bigblocks! I can barely imagine how tiny a normal one would be.

Little green sleepy Snorlax. This little guy's here to add a bit more colour to my Snorlax collection.

Christmas Jynx

When I was little, the Christmas Jynx episode was always one of my favourites. I thought it was so cool when all the Jynx's owned Team Rocket.
I don't really like Jynx normally, but for some reason Christmas Jynx is different.

Picture

Regular Kid

Bandai - 1998

As far as I know, this Kid came from a special group that was based off Pokemon from the anime. Christmas Jynx is one of the stand outs when I think of anime specific Pokemon, and I'm so glad Bandai immortalised her in plastic.

In-Case Figure

Bandai - 1998

Here's Christmas Jynx, about to sneak down someone's chimney. These in-case figures were made of all sorts of scenes. And all of them look really good.

Burgh
(アーティ Arty)
            "Premier Insect Artist"

This is a new thing for me. I'm usually pretty neutral when it comes to human characters. Up until Gen 5 I've definitely LIKED some characters, but never really felt a connection to them, so just let them pass by with their games. But then Arty (I usually use the English names for characters, but Arty is an IMMENSELY better name than Burgh. BUUUUUURGH I'm still mad at you for that Nintendo) happened, and like the stars god damn alligned or something idk. At first I just liked him because he reminded me of a younger version of my favourite singer Mika, and he has a pretty design or whatever (good job making me not hate a red/green colour scheme no really that's a skill). But then I found out that he was also an ~artist~, and is just generally awesome in every way, and just like that, I found the first human Pokemon character I actually like.

And now  have a dumb mini side collection of him too.
Gosh.

CUSTOM Ampharos Mock!Pokedoll

By Usakochan - 2011

Oh how worth the wait this plush was my god. <3 Back in.. late 2009? I think it was? I was getting back into Pokemon after a few years break, when on my my favourite plush artists from dA, Usakochan, announced she'd be taking her last batch of custom plush commissions for who knows how long. I pretty much lost my little 14 year old mind. I don't think I'd even joined the comm at that point, but I knew I WANTED A SLOT. At the time Venusaur wasn't even my favourite Pokemon; I wouldn't have even known what a Venusaur Pokedoll was. At the time I really liked Froslass, so I commissioned a Froslass style Pokedoll. I paid a little late, so I was pretty far down on the commission list. So I waited. And waited. About half a year later, about May 2010, I played through HG, with an Ampharos as one of my trusted companions. I thought back to my commission, and was all "..HMM". I checked Usako's progress list, and saw my plush was still at 0%, SO I ASKED IF I COULD CHANGE MY ORDER. In hindsight, that was a dick move, but Usakochan took it in her stride without a single complaint, and my order was changed to a Ampharos Pokedoll.
Another year went by with no news (just shows how many people she took on for her last batch of commissions! Something I could never manage) until June 2011, when I look at the progress list, AND I'M NEXT! I just, I could not contain my excitement. By now I'd been collecting Venusaur for awhile, and hadn't played HG for several months, but I didn't care. I knew I was getting an Usako custom, and I was just stoked. When she emailed me the finished pictures, I flailed like a fan girl. Showed all my friends and family. I WAS SO EXCITED.
She sent it off soon after completion, and its arrival was so exciting to me like omg. I opened up the package and just. Stared. Turned it over in my hands and STARED. AT EVERYTHING. Observing how it was made alone was so informative for me, and I feel like it really helped me. And it's just. Incredible. So incredible. I love her so much.
I call her Pavlova. <3

Zoroark Pokedoll

Pokemon Center - 2010

I tried so hard to resist this guy.
I saw everyone getting him, and with every picture, I grew weaker and weaker. Though I kept saying to myself, you're not into those canine/anthroish Pokemon, why would you want him?

But, when I went to my first convention, I found him. I found him and I broke. I broke and snatched him up like my life depended on it. (At the time though, I was giving up my thumbs for the 40 Hour Famine, so my snatch was so uncool).
I'm so glad I broke.
His hair. His eyes. HIS FLAILY LITTLE MOLE-LIKE ARMS.
INSTANT LOVE.
His name is MC Z.

Entei Pokedoll

Pokemon Center - 2009

Here's another Pokedoll I've been eyeing for a long time. Entei's been my favourite legendary since the third (?) movie came out, and Pokedoll version of him is just too cute to pass up. I found him, once again, at my first con, with a few other Pokebuddies. (I feel so bad for the guy who served me. I don't think it would be an exaggeration to say I spent a good 20 minuets deciding on four plush to buy. The other two were a Delibird Pokedoll and Vulpix canvas.)

His name is Mufasa, because seriously, third movie Entei seems so much like Mufasa.
"Remember, who you are."

Picture

Gengar Pokedoll

Pokemon Center - 2007

I got this little guy before I came to PKMNCollectors, before I even knew what a Pokedoll was! He's the cutest little ghost I've ever seen.
Weirdly, its tag looks like it's been a bit... chewed on.
By rodents.
Picture

Kyogre Pokedoll

Pokemon Center - 2010

Here's one of those plush, we all have one, that we want for AGES, just not as much as some other stuff, so doesn't get bought for AGES.

Well finally when my birthday came around, I was all SCREW IT, I'M GETTING A KYOGRE DOLL.
Man I'm so glad I did.
Its design is SO adorable, with its stubby little wing fins, and glarey little eyes.

It's also quite aerodynamic when thrown right. It seems to practically glide along.
Picture

Mini Turtwig Pokedoll

Pokemon Center - ?

This could possibly be one of the cutest Turtwigs in the history of forever. ;u; Won't lie, I don't know a whole lot about this Turtwig besides the whole IT'S A POKEDOLL FROM THE POKEMON CENTER thing, so. Umm. Sorry.

I got this little cutey in a trade with a lovely off PKMNcollectors, and he is now my travelling buddy for life. <3 I call him Miniwig.
Picture

Pokemon Time Bulbasaur Plush

Pokemon Center - 2008

Ok I NEVER thought I would have the chance to get this plush. It was just old enough to be tricky to find, and JUST sought after enough that I'd given up before I'd even tried. But then one day it was just hanging out on Y!J! And I bid! And I won! AND NOW IT'S MINE LIKE?????????

It's such a perfect plush I'm so glad I didn't give up on having this little loser.

Raichu Canvas Plush

Pokemon Center - 2010

Canvas Plush are the best. I got this for my birthday in 2010, off eBay.  I think this may have been one of my first pieces of Pokemon merch gotten as a collector.
IT'S SO LITTLE.
AND SO CUTE.
AND SO SOFT.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.
Picture

Alakazam UFO Plush

Banpresto - 2007

This was one of the first plush I bought when I got Paypal. Alakazam had been a GUN in my Leaf Green team, and I couldn't believe he'd gotten a plush. Such a cute plush at that! Even though he was a bit expensive, he was so worth the dosh.

His name is Dennis.
Picture

Heatmor My Pokemon Collection Plush

Banpresto - 2012

GRUMPY ANTEATER! <3 Even though I didn't have this guy in my White team (why must you be found in Victory Road) I always found this Pokemon really remarkable. When I saw it for the first time, I was a little disappointed that the only anteater (one of my favourite animals) Pokemon looked so.. unfuzzy. And odd. To me it seemed like a waste. But then I started to look more carefully, read about it, and I then started to warm up to him a little. His grumpy demeanour amused me to no end.

And this plush is just amazing. So many pretty details. AND MOLE ARMS. FLAILY LITTLE MOLE ARMS. One of my favourite things in plush ever. You got flaily mole arms? You got a fan in me.

Oh bb dat tag~

Sleepy Cherrim Jakks Plush

Jakks - 2008

I love sleepy Cherrim with a passion. The combination of those chilled colours, and dem adorable sleep eyes, I JUST CAN'T SAY NO.

And omg yay first Jakks plush! I remember when Jakks had a reputation for doing shittastic plush, but lately they've really up'd their game! This plush is made out of super soft minky. I just want to rub my face in it ALL DAY.
Picture

Sableye Beanie Plush

Hasbro - 2005

I've got a secret Sableye love. For my birthday, I gently nudged my friend to buy this little gremlin off eBay. Though it was a few months later when he arrived (long story), I was SO happy to have him in my arms!
He currently resides on my bookshelf, peering timidly over Gengar.
Picture

Quagsire Friends Plush

Bandai - ?

Cutest little durp of a Friends plush everrrr. I got this when I first discovered eBay, and before I even knew what a Friends Plush was! Before I found the comm even.

SO, HERE WE HAVE:
- Vinci (Typhlosion)
- Pavlova (Ampharos)
- Issy (Sunflora)
- Kachina (Xatu)
- Melon (Octillery)

Swinub Kid / Clear Kid

ポケモン キッズ
Bandai - 2001/2001

Swinub is such a cute little guy. There's no way I can afford collecting MORE POKEMON, but I'm happy to get a few things of him here and there.

Swinub's already so adorbs.
Put him in Kid version?
GUARANTEED SQUEES.

New addition of a Clear Kid! I just had to.
Picture

Alomomola Kid

ポケモン キッズ
Bandai - 2011

I do quite enjoy Kids that are difficult to photograph.

CLADDAGH RING + SUNFISH = ALOMOMOLA? This is what experts think. Well, both of those things I LOVE, so I'd obviously have some sort of fondness for this funny looking thing.

Though it could've been less... beautiful. IT'S TOO ELEGANT.
Picture

Swadloon Kid

Look at this Kid.
Look at the intense unsatisfaction on his face.

DON'T YOU JUST LOVE IT?

Pikachu Tomy

Tomy - ?

Obviously I'm not a Pikachu collector. That shit would just be pure crazy.
But I really do like this little Pikachu Tomy from like, the dawn of time. It's like he's listening into some major goss going down in the next room.

He knows all your secrets.
Picture

Clefable Tomy Figure

Tomy - ?

You know, sometimes in the glarey brightness of the new generations, I sometimes forget how cute some of the gen 1ers are. LIKE CLEFABLE. I've never actually acknowledged how adorable it really is! While I don't necessarily want to collect her, I would still like to pick up something here and there for Clefable.
Look at that little grin! So sweet. <3

Masquerain Zukan 2

立体ポケモン図鑑
Yujin/Takara Tomy ARTS - ?

We all know how popular Masquerain and Surskit are.
They're so popular, they don't just get one Zukan.
THEY GET TWO.

And here's the second one. Even thought I just got this because Masquerain is adorable, I just admit Surskit is also pretty cute here. :>

Gulpin and Torchic Pokemon Time Straps

Play Set Products / Pokemon Center - 2011

Oh my god these straps are AMAZING. I've recently acquired a love for the PT line, and when it was announced they were making a gen 3 promo, I just about died. While I couldn't afford a lot, I COULD afford these adorable little charms. I got Lotad (on the Lotad line page), and these two! They're both absolutely incredible. I love the Gulpin far more than I anticipated.
MAKING IT NOM EVERYTHING WITH ITS CUTE LITTLE MOUTH. <333

Scraggy/Zuruggu Metal Charm 1

Pokemon Center - 2011

This little guy came from a set of 5 blind packaged charms, aaaand this was the first one shown on the packaging. (First as in, first in a line of 5 Zuruggu charm pictures.) These are a little bigger than the Johto Dex charms, and just as high quality!

Zuruggu is one of my favourite new gen 5 Pokemon, but I REALLY can't afford to side collect yet another Pokemon. SO I JUST DECIDED TO GET ONE LITTLE THING.
... Or that's what I keep telling myself.

This currently resides on my pencil case at school, and it always cheers me up to look at it.
Picture

Slowpoke Pokemon "Both Sides Metal Holder"

両面メタルホルダー
? - ?

I'll admit, this was somewhat of an impulse purchase, but I in no way regret getting this. I've always had a soft spot for dim-witted little Slowpoke, but I'm not a fan of a lot of his merch. This though, is both unique AND sufficiently awesome. Two sided charms really need to be more of a thing. <3
Picture
Just about actual size.

Camerupt Advanced Generation Trading Coin

This picture does not do the coin justice. Man, this coin is so so pretty. It's all sparkly, and shiny, and BLUE.

AND IT CAN CHANGE COLOUR A LITTLE BASED ON TEMPERATURE. LIKE THOSE MOOD RINGS./just realised

Seriously the coolest coin ever. YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW.
